Country Football and Netball Program Funds Now Available

Emma Kealy, Nationals Member for Lowan is encouraging grassroots football and netball clubs and umpiring organisations to apply for grants of up to $100,000 to improve their facilities.

Applications for the 2015-16 round of The Country Football and Netball Program are now open and will close on Thursday, 11 February 2016.

Ms Kealy said funding assistance was available for facility improvements like change room upgrades, court refurbishments, ground resurface works or lighting installation.

The Country Football and Netball Program enables our local football and netball clubs to make the improvements needed to deliver facilities we need to enjoy playing the sports we love,” she said.

“Having high quality sporting facilities is central to encouraging more Victorians to get more active, more often.

“As well as encouraging participation in football and netball, the initiative helps to stimulate local economies by creating jobs during construction.”

Ms Kealy said clubs must register their interest in applying for funding by submitting an Expression of Interest to their local council.

“I strongly encourage clubs to contact their local council about timelines for Expression of Interest,” Ms Crisp said.
