Funding for Edenhope Hospital

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP congratulates the extensive lobbying by the Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital and local community in securing a $6.3 million funding boost.

“After years of lobbying the Edenhope community will finally get a much needed refurbishment of their aged care facility with $6.3 million announced for the Hospital today,” Ms Kealy said.

“I've worked with the Edenhope community for such a long time to secure this funding for aged care infrastructure, through my previous role as Edenhope Hospital CEO and most recently in Parliament less than two weeks ago.

"This is a fantastic result for the Edenhope community, and I congratulate them for their ongoing support and keeping up the fight to get our fair share of funding,” she said.

The State Government will provide the $6.3 million through the first round of the $200 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund.

“Our country region needs and deserves our fair share of Hospital capital funding and this is great news of our local area,” Ms Kealy said.

“We all deserve quality health services, whether we live in the city or the country, and it is important country communities are provided with first-class facilities.

“We have fantastic local clinical staff who deserve to be provided with quality facilities to support them in delivering the best possible standard of care to our people,” she said.
