Funding to upgrade Kinders and Childcare Centres

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP has encouraged local councils and kindergarten operators across the Lowan electorate to apply for major grant funding under the 2017-18 Children’s Facilities Capital Program.

Ms Kealy said the program is offering funding to build and refurbish centres across three categories:

  • · Integrated Children’s Centre Grants
  • · New Early Learning Facilities Grants
  • · Early Learning Facilities Upgrade Grants

"The quality of a child’s earliest environments and the availability of appropriate facilities at the right stages of development are crucial in determining the way each child develops,” Ms Kealy said.

“We also know that we need great early learning facilities to help attract and retain young families to our region and better manage population growth in Victoria.

“This program is a great opportunity to fund projects that will improve facilities and opportunities for children and families in our rural settings.

“Our young people are our investment in the future and I hope to see operators in the Lowan electorate make the most of these grants”, she said.

Applications close on 15 September 2017.
