Kealy celebrates new Coughlin Park Community Centre

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP will celebrate the official opening of the $1.4 million Coughlin Park Community Centre this weekend.

“I congratulate the joint efforts provided by the Horsham Rural City Council and the many Coughlin Park tenants who have supported and worked hard to deliver this important local community project,” Ms Kealy said.

“I also commend past Nationals Member for Lowan and Minister for Sport, Hon. Hugh Delahunty in securing $905,000 delivered by the previous National-Liberal Coalition State Government,” she said.

The balance of funding has been paid for by Coughlin Park tenants and Council.

“The new Coughlin Park Community Centre includes male and female change rooms, umpires rooms, a meeting room, additional storage, community amenities and a large function room and kitchen,” Ms Kealy said.

“Football, netball, lawn bowls, cricket, tennis clubs and a range of other community groups will now be able to take advantage of these fantastic new facilities.

“Around 100,000 people use Coughlin Park each year and these fabulous new facilities will benefit our local community well into the future.

“I am proud of the strong community support that has been shown in partnership with local agencies and I look forward to joining with local sporting clubs and community members in celebrating the official opening,” she said.

The Official Opening of the Coughlin Park Community Centre will take place this Saturday.
