Kealy – kindergarten grants up for grabs

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is encouraging kindergartens in the Lowan electorate to apply for funding for refurbishment works and to improve their IT capabilities.

“There are three categories of funding currently open to kindergartens under the Children’s Facilities Capital Program”, Ms Kealy said.

“The grants are designed to improve access for all abilities, increase the usable space of facilities and to upgrade IT systems or purchase new devices”, she said.

The three categories are:

-          Minor infrastructure expansion grants of up to $25,000 to increase useable spaces;

-          Minor infrastructure refurbishment grants of up to $10,000 to improve spaces used by children, particularly where access can be improved to all abilities; and

-          Information technology grants of up to $1500 to purchase laptops, desktops, tables and televisions used for learning programs or administrative purposes.

“I encourage all local kindergartens to consider applying as these grants can save a lot of fundraising work often required to be done by volunteers, educators and parents”, Ms Kealy said.

Applications, which must be submitted online, close at 4pm on Tuesday, 6 June 2017.
