Kealy – no news reflects roads neglect

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP believes a lack of public information regarding South West Victoria’s roads is a direct reflection of the Andrews Labor Government’s ongoing neglect of roads in the local area.

The media release section on the VicRoads website is broken into five regions and metropolitan Melbourne.

There have only been two media releases published for the South Western Region since February, both on state wide issues.

By comparison there have been seven new media releases issued for North East Victoria, five which are region specific and 10 for metropolitan Melbourne since May, nine of which are city specific.

“We know Daniel Andrews has no good news to share about our roads, because under Labor our roads have been left to crumble, putting local lives at risk,” Ms Kealy said.

“This is a perfect example of Daniel Andrews total lack of interest and neglect of roads in our part of the state”, she said.

Ms Kealy is continuing her push for local people to keep reporting road hazards to VicRoads via her website www.emmakealy.com or by phoning 13 11 70.

“Reporting all road hazards to VicRoads will help give them the data they need to demonstrate more funding is needed to respond to road hazards in the Lowan electorate”, Ms Kealy said.

“By all working together we can deliver a strong message to this Melbourne-centric Labor Government that the 110,000 people who live in our great part of the state will not be ignored”, she said.
