New Men’s Shed for Pomonal

The Pomonal Men’s Shed Development Committee will receive $66,272 to build a new Men’s Shed.

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy is delighted Pomonal has won a share of funding available through the 2019-20 Men’s Shed Program after several years’ advocacy by the committee and strong support from the local community.

“This is fantastic news and a just reward for the hard work of the Pomonal Men’s Shed Development Committee and broader community,” Ms Kealy said.

“I have been proud to support the Committee in their endeavours to obtain funding to bring this project to fruition.

“Social isolation is a significant issue in our regional communities with proven impacts on mental health.

“Men’s Sheds provide a place where men can get together, join in activities, swap yarns, work together on community projects and talk about what’s on their mind.

“The Sheds are one of the most powerful tools we have in helping men remain valued and valuable members of our community.

Building of the Pomonal Men’s Shed will commence in the first quarter for 2020.
