Young musicians invited to perform at Parliament

The Victorian Parliament is holding a special community event to bring young Victorians to Parliament House through music and culture.

Spring Street Beat will be held on Saturday, 21 November 2015, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Emma Kealy, Nationals Member for Lowan said the event aimed to encourage and promote music of all styles and cultures.

“This unique event is open to artists aged 18 to 35 and I encourage local performers to register their interest in participating,” Ms Kealy said.

Submissions to perform at Spring Street Beat are now open and will close on 23 October 2015. They should include a short bio and a recent video of the artist performing.

A modest performance fee will be paid to each performer selected for the event, with travel and accommodation assistance offered to performers selected from outside the Melbourne metropolitan area.
