2019 Shrine of Remembrance Medal – Nominations Open
Nominations are currently being invited from individuals and groups across Victoria for the 2019 Shrine of Remembrance Medal.
The Medal recognises an individual or group that has made an outstanding contribution towards honouring the service and sacrifice of Victorians in war and peacekeeping.
The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy is aware of many individuals and groups across the Lowan electorate who would be worthy nominees of this prestigious medal.
“Many of these local people have been making an outstanding contribution to the care of our country’s veterans for significant periods of time,” Ms Kealy said.
“A number of them served in the military themselves and understand the struggles many of our veterans face because they have walked the walk.
“They understand the importance of advancing community knowledge and recognition of our veterans’ enormous sacrifices.
“If you know of an individual or a group you believe would be worthy of the Shrine of Remembrance Medal please take the time to nominate them.”
Nominations for both individuals and groups close at 5pm on Friday, 4 October 2019.
The recipient of the 2019 Shrine of Remembrance Medal will be presented at a special invitation only event following the Remembrance Day Service at the Shrine on Monday, 11 November 2019.
Nominations forms are available by visiting www.shrine.org.au/Remembrance/Shrine-of-Remembrance-Annual-Medal or by contacting Ms Kealy’s electorate office on 5582 0097.
