Ballarat drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility
Labor has failed to open a single additional public residential rehabilitation bed in two years, as the rate of drug-related crime has skyrocketed.
Today the Andrews Government announced a rehabilitation unit in Ballarat would be closed, with no replacement service for at least 18 months.
Drug crime in Victoria is up 20 per cent and wait lists for rehabilitation are being closed as people wait more than six months to access the drug rehabilitation support they desperately need.
In April 2016, the Andrews Labor Government claimed work on a new residential rehabilitation centre for the Grampians would begin in ‘coming weeks’, but we now know the Grampians community will have to wait more than two years to have access to this service.
Drug crime has increased under Daniel Andrews, and more broken promises and media stunts won’t fix the ice epidemic or make Victoria safe.
