June 22, 2020

Today our state was due to transition to the next stage of eased COVID-19 restrictions. However, a spike in cases in Victoria has meant some of the changes due to take effect will no longer go ahead.

I understand and share in the disappointment and frustration that many people will feel in this situation, particularly given
our area has no confirmed active cases of the virus, and hasn’t for many weeks.

I sincerely thank everyone in our region who has followed the restrictions and done their part to get us to this point. I know it has not been easy, and I thank you for putting the health of our community first.

Let’s make sure we continue to support each other and stay safe so that restrictions can continue to ease and our communities and economies can get back on track.

LICENCE TESTING
Drivers in the Lowan electorate have been patiently waiting for months to learn when they will be able to take their rite of passage and sit a driving test after testing was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Testing resumed progressively from last week, with people who had an appointment booked before testing was postponed prioritised for re-booking, in order of cancellation. VicRoads is contacting these people directly to reschedule tests. New appointments will be available once the backlog of postponed tests is cleared.

COVID-19 CASES
There are no confirmed active cases within the Lowan electorate at this time. All previous confirmed cases have recovered.
