Felicity designs Christmas card for MP

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP has announced the winner of her annual Christmas card design competition.

“The winning entry, inspired by our beautiful region primed after a wet winter and spring, has been drawn by talented Murtoa College student, Felicity Okely,” Ms Kealy said.

Emma Kealy MP wrote to all schools in the electorate inviting students to design the cover of her 2016 Christmas card, asking students to depict what they loved best about their local area, with a touch of Christmas.

''I received more entries than ever this year, with 219 drawings from 15 schools right across western Victoria,'' Ms Kealy said.

“The artistic talent of our youth is very impressive, and it was striking how many students included references to our recharged waterways, lakes, rivers and impressive crops this season,'' she said.

Murtoa College Year 4 student, Felicity Okely described her winning entry as, “Going tadpoling in a big puddle, riding my bike and finding a common long necked turtle”.

A selection of the impressive entries will be displayed in Emma Kealy’s Electorate office window located at 114 Firebrace Street, Horsham.

Felicity’s winning design will feature on Emma’s 2016 Christmas card, and students who produced highly commended artwork will receive a prize in appreciation of their outstanding efforts.
