It’s Your Fire Services - Lowan has its say

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP will join Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin MP to meet with local fire fighters and community members to listen to their thoughts on the future of their fire services.

A recent parliamentary inquiry confirmed the Andrews Labor Government failed to consult firefighters before introducing flawed legislation in an attempted political fix for the fire services.

“The Liberal and Nationals Coalition want to ensure our policies place community safety at the forefront, and is developed in full consultation with the men and women that have been protecting Victoria for decades,” Ms Kealy said.

“Our emergency service volunteers are indispensable to the safety of our local communities”, she said.

Brad Battin’s visit to the Lowan electorate this week will form part of the Liberal and National Coalition’s state wide tour to consult with and listen to fire fighters on the ground.

“In order to build a strong fire service for the future it is important we travel around the state to listen and work with our firefighters on the ground, particularly the 60,000 volunteers who have been ignored by Daniel Andrews and James Merlino,” Mr Battin said.

“The safety of our local communities and firefighters is too important to be traded for political favours from the UFU,” he said.
