Kealy congratulates Rupanyup community on $100,000 announcement

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP has congratulated the Rupanyup community and the Yarriambiack Shire Council on the success of receiving $100,000 for the Rupanyup Recreation Reserve.

“This funding is a huge win for Rupanyup and will greatly benefit the Rupanyup Football Netball Club with the installation of 100 lux lighting,” Ms Kealy said.

“I am proud to have strongly advocated for this great project for Rupanyup and to work with passionate locals in the vibrant Rupanyup community to support their efforts to achieve this funding win.

“Sport builds a sense of community, particularly in regional areas where it is one of the best ways for our locals to get together, socialise and catch up on the news of the week.

“The Rupanyup Football Netball Club is a fabulous example of the benefits that grassroots sporting clubs bring to rural areas.”

Rupanyup is one of 17 projects across Victoria that will share in over $1.6 million from the latest round of the $9 million Country Football and Netball Program.

“I congratulate the many passionate locals who have successfully lobbied the State Government to deliver this vital investment and I encourage all local clubs to consider projects for the next round of the Country Football and Netball Program,” Ms Kealy said.

The Country Football and Netball Program allows councils to replace and upgrade ageing facilities across rural and regional Victoria and for more information please visit
