Kealy – Grants for National Youth Week events

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is encouraging local young people aged 12-25 to apply for funding to support events and activities planned during the 2017 National Youth Week.

“Grants of up to $2,000 are available for young people who work in partnership with local governments, community and sporting groups or schools to organise events that celebrate youth week,” Ms Kealy said.

“The grants are for young people to plan and deliver events, for young people,” she said.

National Youth Week is a joint partnership with the Australian and Victorian Governments which will be held from 31 March 2017 to 9 April 2017.

“There are many amazing young people who achieve great things across the Lowan electorate every day,” Ms Kealy said.

“National Youth Week recognises our young people to give them the opportunity to organise events to celebrate with their peers and take pride in their achievements.

“I encourage all community organisations working with young people across the electorate to apply for a 2017 National Youth Week grant.

“Ideally it would be great to see every town in the electorate celebrating our young people,” she said.

Applications close on Friday, 11 November 2016.  For further information on the 2017 National Youth Week grants program, visit www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au/nyw.
