Kealy issues invitation to Parliament House Open Day

The Nationals Member for Lowan Emma Kealy MP has issued an invitation to the people of the Lowan electorate to visit Parliament House for an Open Day on Sunday, 18 March 2018.

Entry is free to members of the public.

“The day offers visitors the chance to explore areas of Parliament not usually open to the public,” Ms Kealy said.

Visitors can see Queen’s Hall, sit in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chamber and visit the magnificent Parliamentary Library.

They can also visit the committee room, see the Speakers and members’ offices and enjoy morning and afternoon tea in the members Dining Room or have lunch in the parliamentary gardens.

There will also be musical performances to enjoy in Queen’s Hall and the gardens.

“The architecture of Parliament House, especially the Legislative Council chamber is quite remarkable,” Ms Kealy said.

“Over the years there have been refurbishments to Parliament House, but the Council Chamber remains one of the best examples of the style of building of its time and is well worth a visit.

“This is a great opportunity for Victorians to see their Parliament and to gain an appreciation of the grandeur of the building,” she said.
