Kealy - Labor chauffeurs pet dogs but won’t fix roads
The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is outraged after the Andrew’s Labor Government was caught out spending taxpayer’s money on chauffeuring pet dogs, but won’t invest in repairing country roads.
“It’s just offensive to see Minister Steve Herbert using his taxpayer-funded car as a doggie limo, while Labor continually refuses to spend money on country roads,” Ms Kealy said.
“Our country roads are crumbling and local people have been crying out for urgent repairs to ensure the safety of all road users.
“This blatant abuse and waste of taxpayers funding is just another blow for country people,” she said.
Labor’s Training and Skills Minister Steve Herbert was forced to apologise after being caught using a taxpayer-funded chauffeur to regularly ferry his pet dogs 120km.
“Labor is willing to splurge on chauffeur driven dogs but will not invest in our crumbling country roads,” Ms Kealy said.
“Many sections of the Henty, Western, Wimmera, Borung, Glenelg and Princess Highways are riddled with pot holes and simply crumbling to rubble.
“Daniel Andrews and his city-centric Labor Government’s blatant disregard for country Victoria is shameful,” she said.
