Kealy – the next exciting step for health care in our region
The Nationals Member for Lowan and Shadow Minister for Country Health, Emma Kealy is eagerly awaiting the completion of a Master Plan for Horsham’s Wimmera Base Hospital.
The Wimmera Health Care Group is currently working on a Master Plan for the next stage of development of the hospital site.
Ms Kealy said she was looking forward to seeing the Hospital’s blue print for the future and supporting them in the same way she did with the Wimmera Cancer Centre when they are ready to go with building works.
“It was extremely disappointing that we had to launch an extensive community campaign and petition to make the Minister keep the promise she made to local cancer patients regarding funding the completion of the Wimmera Cancer Centre,” Ms Kealy said.
“But thanks to our successful campaign that held Labor to account for the Minister’s promise the Centre is now being built and will include the dialysis and palliative care services that were being put at risk.
“We stood together and our united local voice made a real and meaningful difference to ensuring the project did not need to be completed in stages.
“The new Master Plan for the Wimmera Base Hospital site will be the next exciting step for health care in our region.
“Only the Liberal Nationals will deliver a better deal for regional Victoria and like the Wimmera Cancer Centre, I will stand together with our local residents to ensure our great part of the State gets the health facilities that residents deserve.”
