Kealy welcomes new hospital bus stop
The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP has welcomed a new V/Line bus stop opposite the Casterton hospital.
Ms Kealy wrote to the State Government late last year requesting the installation of a second bus stop near the hospital after being approached by a number of local residents about the need for an additional stop.
“Many residents were needing to walk half an hour or more from the one existing local bus stop in the town to the hospital” Ms Kealy said.
“I wrote to the Minister for Public Transport requesting a second bus stop near the hospital to enable our elderly and most vulnerable residents to utilise public transport to access key regional services.
“As a result of this approach, the community now has a second bus stop that is being well used, which is wonderful news for the local community.
“I am delighted that I have been able to help improve public transport services in Casterton for the benefit of local residents”, she said.
