Nhill boardwalk opening - Letter to the Editor

I was proud to attend the opening ceremony of the Nhill Swamp Boardwalk project.

A few years ago a bulldozer was poised ready to demolish the Nhill Boardwalk. With only 12 hours to go, passionate locals intervened to save the Boardwalk and began work to raise funds to rebuild this great community asset.

This was a great local project driven by the local community, helped along with $7,173.30 in funding provided by the previous Victorian Liberal National Coalition Government.

I congratulate everyone involved in making this beautiful renewed Boardwalk a reality including the Nhill Rotary Club, Freemasons Victorian Lowan Lodge, Nhill Men’s Shed, the Karen Community, Nhill Bird Observers Club, Nhill Historical Society, Nhill College, West Wimmera Health Services, Parks Victoria and many various local and local businesses.

I encourage everyone to visit the Nhill Swamp Boardwalk to enjoy the new facilities and to view the beauty of our local environment.
