My constituency matter is to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety, and the information I seek is: when will the roads in western Victoria and in my electorate of Lowan be made safe? We have seen over the past week the disastrous impacts of Labor’s ongoing cuts to the road asset maintenance budget. It does not matter which corner of my electorate you are in or, quite frankly, which corner of the state of Victoria you in; the roads are, quite frankly, dangerous. The additional rain that we have had is quite welcome relief to many farmers out there who are looking for the last drink of the season and to top up our waterways, particularly east of the Grampians, but we also have challenges where it has shown the vulnerabilities in our road surfaces. Those small cracks, those small potholes have let water underneath, and they have severely broken up. The crumbling edges mean that we have got more water coming in, and those edges are now mini cliffs hanging off the edge of the road. It is a dangerous scenario. So I ask the minister: when will these roads be made safe?
