Parliament House Open Day

Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is encouraging people to visit Parliament House for its annual Open Day on Sunday, 6 March 2016.

“The day offers visitors the chance to explore areas of Parliament not usually open to the public,” Ms Kealy said.

“Visitors can sit in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers, visit the Parliamentary Library and enjoy morning and afternoon tea in the Member’s Dining Room.

“They can also visit the committee room, see the Speaker’s and members’ offices and have lunch in the parliamentary gardens,” she said.

This year’s Open Day is celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Victorian Parliament.

Ms Kealy said entry was free and there would be tours and exhibits available between 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.

“This is a great opportunity for people to see their Parliament and gain a better understanding of how Victoria’s democracy works,” Ms Kealy said.
