Reminder to donate for Nappy Collection

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is reminding local people they can donate unused nappies in support of ‘The Nappy Collective’ project until 18 May 2018.

Ms Kealy has signed up her office again to collect leftover unused disposable nappies and redistributes them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need.

“Last year I was proud to deliver over 600 nappies to the Christian Emergency Food Centre for local distribution to support victims of domestic violence and young mothers in need,” Ms Kealy said.

“You don’t have to have a supply of unused nappies on hand to make a contribution – monetary donations are welcome and some people have previously purchased new nappies to support this worthy cause.

“This initiative runs twice a year in May and October and I am very excited to have signed up my office again at 114 Firebrace Street, Horsham as a collection point for the May nappy collection.

“I remind people that unused nappy donations are being accepted until Friday, 18 May 2018,” she said.

There are 400 official drop points in 64 towns and cities across Australia, with over 2,000,000 nappies donated since the project commenced in 2013.

“I am proud to support this worthwhile community charity and encourage everyone in our local area to consider getting involved,” Ms Kealy said.
