Small business research and innovation grants up for grabs

The Nationals Member for Lowan Emma Kealy is encouraging small and medium businesses to seek funding to develop their innovative solutions for government policy and service delivery challenges.

“There are many innovative progressive businesses in the Lowan electorate that I would encourage to look at this grant,” Ms Kealy said.

The Business Research and Innovation Initiative program offers a total grant pool of $12 million to help small and medium businesses develop solutions to the following challenges:

Businesses must select one of the five challenges then apply to conduct a feasibility study.  The maximum grant amount for feasibility studies is $100,000 with a maximum grant period of three months.

Businesses that successfully complete the feasibility study will be able to apply for the proof of concept stage, with maximum grants of up to $1 million available over 18 months.

The program is open until 17 April 2019 and is available through the Federal Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
