Stay alert during flood warnings
The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is reminding the region to stay alert and listen to advice from emergency services with heavy rain predicted and flood warnings in place across the State.
“I urge everyone to stay alert and put their safety first during these rainfall and flood events,” Ms Kealy said.
Residents can monitor flood warnings on the Emergency Management website at www.emv.vic.gov.au and request emergency assistance by phoning the State Emergency Service on 132 500.
“There is the possibility of road closures across the Wimmera and Western districts”, Ms Kealy said.
“Please slow down, avoid driving in flood waters and keep updated with road closures through the VicRoads website http://traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/.
“I urge everyone to remain vigilant, drive to the conditions, take extra care on our county roads and where possible delay travel plans until weather conditions have subsided,” she said.
