Tiny Towns Fund now open

Member for Lowan and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Emma Kealy is encouraging local communities to apply for the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.

This fund offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to support projects that enhance tourism, liveability, and community pride in towns with populations of 5,000 or fewer residents.

Applicants are required to contribute up to 20 per cent of the proposed project budget, which can be a combination of financial and in-kind support.

Ms Kealy emphasised that this is an invaluable opportunity for small communities within the electorate to access vital funding for key local projects.

“These grants have already made a positive impact on various community-driven initiatives, and I’m eager to see more proposals from the Lowan electorate this year, Ms Kealy said.

“Previous recipients of the Tiny Towns Fund include Dimboola Community Centre, Hindmarsh Shire Council, Horsham Rural City Council, Laharum Public Hall Committee, Natimuk Agricultural and Pastoral Society Inc, Northern Grampians Shire Council, Quantong Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, Rupanyup Progress (formerly Rupanyup Consultative Committee), Wimmera Machinery Field Days Inc, and the Yarriambiack Shire Council.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our towns to secure funding that can make a real difference in their communities”.

Applications close on 25 October 2024.
