Applications for Living Local Regional Fund now open

Member for Lowan and deputy Nationals leader Emma Kealy is encouraging local councils and eligible community organisations to consider applying for funding under the Living Local Fund.

There are two streams of funding available under Living Local Fund, with the Our Regions: Living Local – Regional Fund stream aimed at driving economic and social recovery in regional areas.

Community organisations and councils can apply for grants of up to $200,000 for infrastructure projects, while smaller investments of up to $20,000 are available for minor upgrades and maintenance to facilities.

Council infrastructure projects may include outdoor dining furniture and greening initiatives, splash parks and parklets, public art installations and safety and accessibility improvements.

Grants will also give community organisations a chance to buy new equipment such as kitchen appliances, laptops, and audio-visual equipment to assist their important work assisting communities.Priority will be given to projects in areas most impacted by COVID-19.

Ms Kealy said the coronavirus pandemic had made it incredibly challenging for many people in Lowan over the past two years.

“We have a large number of fantastic hardworking organisations in Lowan that have been hit hard and could use this funding to bring their clubs back to life and make an even bigger impact on the health of our community.

“I encourage all our local councils and community groups to consider applying to ensure our region gets its fair share and to help make our local community even stronger and more resilient,” she said.

Grant applications are now open and close on Sunday, 14 August 2022.
