Hamilton bus route disappointment

The Minister for Public Transport has completely overlooked Hamilton following newly announced bus services for western Victoria in Horsham and Stawell.

Adding to community frustrations, there is also still no commitment from the Andrew’s Labor Government to return passenger rail service in Western Victoria.

“The Minister has failed to address the desperate needs of Hamilton and surrounding districts who have been crying out for additional bus services and the return of passenger rail,” Ms Kealy said.

“With no additional town bus routes for Hamilton, no commitment to passenger rail and no commitment to connect Hamilton, Cavendish, Balmoral and Horsham by bus, the Minister needs to explain why she continues to refuse to give people living in and around Hamilton access to the public transport option they need and deserve.

“The Andrews’ Labor Government have proven yet again they just don’t care about the needs of regional Victoria and have a complete lack of understanding of our public transport needs.

“Our communities are endlessly frustrated by Labor’s neglect and refusal to bring our communities closer together, making it impossible to live in one town and work in another.

“Improved connections for Hamilton with Regional Victoria would make it easier for workers, students, visitors and our whole community to get where we need to be.

“I continue to call on Daniel Andrews and his Labor Ministers to make good on their commitment to ‘deliver for all Victorians’ by giving local residents the public transport connections they are entitled to and deserve,” she said.
