Regional achiever awards now taking nominations

The Nationals Member for Lowan, Emma Kealy MP is encouraging community members across the Lowan electorate to nominate local high achievers for a Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Award.

“There are many local people who are making a huge contribution to our regional communities through sporting clubs, environmental work, leadership programs, small businesses and more,” Ms Kealy said.

“The awards highlight the valuable contribution people make towards building a stronger and better local community and there are many wonderful initiatives that deserve to be honoured with a nomination,” she said.

The Regional Achievement and Community Awards began in 2002 and have grown to become one of the most prestigious Awards programs in Regional Victoria.

Ms Kealy said nominations were being sought in the following categories:

  • Regional Achiever Award
  • Community Group of the Year Award
  • Senior Achievement Award
  • Environmental Sustainability Award
  • Business Achievement Award
  • Customer Service Award
  • Excellence in Aged Care Award
  • Leadership and Innovation Award
  • Community Service in Aged Care Award

“These awards are a fabulous opportunity to recognise leaders and innovators across a diverse range of sectors that make our communities better places to live,” Ms Kealy said.

“There can never be enough encouragement and support for those working in regional and rural areas and awards such as these provide an opportunity for us to say thank you to those who work tirelessly in developing our region,” she said.

Nominations close on Wednesday, 20 July 2016 with judging taking place on 31 August 2016. More information is available at http://www.awardsaustralia.com/regional-achievement-community-awards/vic
